The Summit Rinjani 3 Days 2 Nights trek is the complete Mount Rinjani experience. Beginning from the Sembalun trailhead and ending in Senaru, this route takes you all the way to the summit of Mount Rinjani at 3,726 meters — Indonesia’s second-highest volcano — before continuing through some of the most spectacular landscapes on the mountain.
Over three immersive days, you’ll experience every major highlight of Mount Rinjani: the wide savanna of Sembalun, the dramatic summit ridge, the breathtaking sunrise from the peak, the volcanic crater lake of Segara Anak, and the rejuvenating hot springs that sit just below the crater wall. The descent through Senaru adds a refreshing contrast as you trek through lush rainforest and rich biodiversity.
This program is ideal for fit and experienced trekkers who want a balanced and complete journey, combining challenging climbs with rewarding natural scenery. With professional support from our Green Rinjani guides, eco-friendly trekking practices, and well-paced daily stages, this 3-day adventure offers the best way to fully experience the beauty, culture, and volcanic power of Mount Rinjani.
- Day 1:
Mostly dry savanna trails and open grassy plains. Gradual ascent at first, turning steeper after Pos 3 with volcanic sand and loose rocks towards Sembalun Crater Rim. - Summit Day (Day 2):
The most challenging section. Extremely steep volcanic scree (loose gravel and sand) makes the summit push tough and slippery — requiring stamina and mental focus. Trekking poles and good shoes are essential. - Descent to Lake:
Steep rocky path down from the crater rim to Segara Anak Lake. The trail is dusty, uneven, and can be slippery when dry. - Day 3 (Exit via Senaru):
Dense tropical rainforest trail. Mostly shaded, soft ground, but long, continuous descent (~2,000 m drop) can be hard on knees. Expect roots, rocks, and possible muddy sections in the rainy season.
